A teaching hospital in eastern North Carolina is seeking a BC/BE Neuromuscular Neurologist to join 6 Neurologists and 2 Nurse Practitioners in an established practice. The position will be hospital employed and is available due to programmatic expansion. This is an outpatient focused position with minimal inpatient responsibilities.
There is currently one other Neuromuscular Neurologist in the practice. The existing neuroscience team consists of 9 neurosurgeons, including 3 dual-trained cerebrovascular neurosurgeons, an interventional neurologist, a neuro-oncologist, stroke neurohospitalists, neurologists, neurointensivists, and a large team of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. The facility serves as the regional leader for Neurosciences and is the only Comprehensive Stroke Center in eastern North Carolina.
The incoming Neuromuscular Neurologist will walk in to a busy, sub-specialized neuromuscular practice. The department has the ability to perform neuromuscular ultrasound.
The facility’s Neuroscience Program uses a multidisciplinary approach to provide a range of services to include diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with neurological disorders. The hospital has specialty-trained staff in nursing, neurology, general neurosurgery, vascular and endovascular neurosurgery, neuro-spine surgery, neuroradiology (including 24/7 in-house neuroradiology coverage), neuro-critical care and neuro-oncology.
