An academic department in Louisiana is seeking a BC/BE Vascular Neurologist for a full-time faculty position at an academic rank determined by level of experience and qualifications. The department will consider both experienced stroke neurologists as well as 2021 or 2022 stroke or vascular fellows. A fellowship in vascular or stroke is required.
The department is looking for a dynamic person to help in further development of their stroke mission as they evolve from a Primary Stroke Center to a Comprehensive Stroke Program. This includes the development of a Vascular Neurology fellowship training program.
The successful candidate is expected to have an active role in medical student and Neurology resident education and to participate in the on-call schedule as well as departmental activities including supervision in resident clinics, grand rounds as well as didactic conferences. The department has outstanding basic and translational research at their medical school with exciting avenues of research readily available including a very successful basic stroke research lab.
