A hospital in east Texas is seeking a BE/ BC Neurohospitalist Neurologist to join an existing program and serve as the Stroke Center Director. The position is open due to expansion. The department is looking for a candidate with experience or interest in leadership. At least 2-4 years of experience is required.
The incoming Neurohospitalist will cover one facility, a Level I Trauma center. This is a new program that has been designated a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The position is 7 on/ 7 off, with a 16-bed neuro ICU and 16-bed neuro unit. The neurohospitalists take neuro call and do consults within the hospital, which typically has a census around 165-185.
The department has 2 interventional radiologists and are performing stroke and Code Angio to the DAWN and DEFUSE-3 time windows. The department will have teleneurology support for the evenings and have community neurology support when needed. One weekend of call a month required.
