The Department of Pediatrics at a university in South Carolina is seeking BE/ BC Pediatric Neuromuscular Neurologist. Academic rank and tenure will be based on experience. The incoming Pediatric Neurologist will have a combined practice of Neuromuscular and General Neurology. A fellowship or equivalent experience in neuromuscular is preferred, pediatric training and designation is required.
Academic interest is preferred. The approximate clinical breakdown will be 50% pediatric neuromuscular and 50% general pediatric neurology. The outpatient clinic is open 8:30-4:30, clinic sessions are in 4 hour blocks and there may be some flexibility with start and end time. The inpatient service has flexible start and end times, generally 24 hour call when on inpatient service. There are no clinics required while the pediatric neurologist is covering inpatient service. The incoming candidate will have 1 week of general peds neurology inpatient call every 5-7 weeks.
This is 100% pediatric neurology opportunity, there will be no adult general neurology requirements. The department is a teaching facility with medical student, resident, and fellow trainees. The incoming candidate can have teaching opportunities via academic appointment with the University. The incoming candidate will have dedicated time for research.
