An academic department in Louisiana is seeking a BE/ BC Pediatric Neurologist. The incoming Epileptologist will have 100% pediatric practice. It will be a mix of general pediatric neurology as well as pediatric Epilepsy, the majority will be Epilepsy.
The department currently has 1 pediatric Epileptologist and 1 Pediatric Sleep Neurologist, as well as 2 Pediatric Neurosurgeons and a 3rd joining in August that specializes in pediatric Epilepsy surgery. The department has a very large patient population of pediatric epilepsy patients and is a level 4 Epilepsy Center.
The position will be a full-time faculty position, academic rank will be determined by the level of experience and qualifications of the incoming candidate. The department resources include an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit with Epilepsy Surgery program, a certified Sleep Lab with fellowship program, as well as a PET Center. This position involves an active role in medical student and Neurology resident education and to participate in departmental activities including supervision in resident clinics, grand rounds as well as didactic conferences.
