A practice located in southern Montana is seeking an Orthopedic Surgery Physician Assistant to join their practice. The group is seeking an experienced candidate, preferably with experience as a First Assist in Orthopedic. The practice is well established and reputable, it has been open for over 25 years.
The incoming PA will be working with one Orthopedic Surgeon in the practice. The schedule will be approximately 3-4 days in clinic and usually 1 day in surgery. In the event an extra surgery day is added, a clinic day would be taken away from the weekly schedule. A majority (90%) of the surgeries are done at the practice’s surgery center located in the same building as the practice’s clinic, the other surgeries would be done at the local hospital.
Practice call is split 1:4 with the other PA working with the same Orthopedic PA. The current PA takes first call, call can be done anywhere and is after hours phone calls from patients. The orthopedic surgeon has limited ER call, approximately 1 weekend every 6 months. The incoming PA will have a practice of mainly sports medicine with mostly knees and shoulders as well as some ankles.
The practice will provide a competitive compensation and full benefit package. The practice has same-day imaging services, including MRI and digital X-Ray, to streamline diagnosis and patient care.
