A University in Georgia is seeking a BE/ BC Neuromuscular Neurologist to join the Department of Neurology. The department will consider both experienced Neuromuscular Neurologists as well as 2022 fellows, an accredited Neurology residency training program and a Clinical Neurophysiology or Neuromuscular fellowship is required.
This position will provide clinical neurological services treating patients in the adult clinic, working in the ALS clinic, performing EMGs and neuromuscular ultrasound, conducting clinical neuromuscular trials, overseeing neurology residents in neuromuscular procedures, and providing clinical and non-clinical instruction to residents, fellows and medical students.
The incoming Neurologist will be almost completely sub-specialized in neuromuscular. The schedule will be ½ day of general neurology per week, the remainder would be EMG and neuromuscular clinic. Call is 6 week-ends/year of general neurology (non-stroke) coverage. The department currently has a clinical neurophysiology fellowship and would like to develop a neuromuscular fellowship. The incoming Neurologist will work with medical students, residents and fellows. The program includes the first ALS Association certified center in Georgia, a National Parkinson’s Center of Excellence, a National Association of Epilepsy level 4 center, a 20 bed Neurocritical Care Unit, a comprehensive stroke program accredited by the Joint Commission of Healthcare Organizations, as well as child and adult neurology residency programs and multiple subspecialty fellowships.
