A hospital on the gulf coast of Florida is seeking a BE/ BC Endovascular Neurosurgeon to join their neurosurgery group. The position is available due to the current endovascular neurosurgeon leaving, they are looking to build the existing program as well. The incoming endovascular neurosurgeon will have some sub-specialization in endovascular, currently the case mix is approximately 80% aneurysms are coiled/ endovascular and 20% open.
The hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Care Center. The hospital has a Siemen Artis Biplane and they will have a second biplane ready for use by Dec17 (Siemen Qzen); they have stryker, codman and EV3 for coils for thrombectomy/ revascularization: Penumbra, Solitaire & Trevo. The hospital has an Interventional Neuro-radiologist, who currently does the coiling, also 2 Interventional Radiologists also cover stroke call and will do thrombectomy/ revascularization.
There is potential for an academic affiliation but it would be predominantly clinical. Call will be 1:4. Excellent support staff including 4 Physician Assistants. Strong referral base.
