A hospital on the east coast of Florida is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery PA or NP to join the department. The practice is seeking someone with at least 1-2+ years of experience. The department prefers a candidate with previous cardiothoracic surgery experience, as well as vein harvesting experience which is required.
Call is 1:3, the APPs get an extra day off after weekend call and when not on call they leave early if all cases are done/covered. The incoming PA or NP will rotate through clinic/OR/consults. This is a very collegial and tight knit group of surgeons and APCs, there is a lot of teamwork and respect amongst the CT surgeons and APCs. The practice does a wide range of cardiothoracic surgery, including thoracic cases. The program is rated #1 in the country.
