A level I trauma center in the New York City area is seeking a Board Certified Critical Care General Surgeon to serve as Director. The facility requires a candidate with a critical-care fellowship, and board certification in both surgery and critical care. The Critical Care Director will also have a clinical trauma practice.
There are currently 6 general surgeons in the department, with a 7th fellow joining in September of 2015. The incoming Surgeon will have a minimum of 5 on-calls per month (in house). There is a general surgery residency through a local NYC university.

The hospital is a fully accredited community teaching hospital with a large network of community-based ambulatory care centers. The facility offers a full array of acute inpatient, rehabilitation and mental health services, the largest voluntary hospital ambulance fleet serving the City’s 911 system, and a Level I trauma center. The hospital provides general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory care on and off campus, ambulatory surgery, a broad spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services, and home health services.
