Hospital in northeastern Nevada is seeking a BE/ BC Spine Neurosurgeon to join its physician community. Completion of a spine fellowship is required. The incoming neurosurgeon will perform mainly cervical and lumbar spinal procedures, and will not perform trauma spinal surgery.
The incoming physician may choose one of three employment models: hospital employed, hospital guarantee or private-practice employment. Call is 10 days per month of regular call (not spinal). The area is currently served by a spine physician who travels from Reno two to four times monthly; there are no orthopedic or spine surgeons in the community. The facility will provide 24/7 anesthesia and radiology coverage, and OR block time. Anesthesiologists currently perform CT-guided spinal injections.
The incoming physician will receive a full benefit package, including compensation starting at $600,000 with a sign-on bonus, and relocation. H-1B and J-1 Visa candidates will be accepted for this position. Regional physician reimbursement is better than average; there is no HMO presence and commercial payers seek only modest discounts. There is a relatively small percentage of Medicare (as a percentage of the total population); and Medicaid averages about 7%.
The area, with a dry environment and moderate climate, is an ideal year-round vacation spot. The community is served by a local airport, with daily flights to Salt Lake City and Reno.
